Engineering

RAG, custom models and private inference, built to your scope and proved before launch.

AI engineering for the work a standard system cannot cover: knowledge systems, fine-tuned models, private LLM hosting, evaluation and agents. Quoted in writing after a diagnostic. Nothing by the hour.

The twelve systems, and this

For

What you get
The twelve systemsA finished system built into the software you already use.
EngineeringA capability built to your scope: retrieval, a model, an endpoint, a test set, an agent.
Price

How an engagement runs

Three steps, one page

The same quoted path as the seven systems without a list price. Every quote carries one page that says what is in, what is out, and what we assume.

  1. 01

    Diagnose

A fixed fee. We measure the workflow as it runs today and prove it on your own files. The fee is credited to the build if you sign within 30 days.

    $2,500 once

  2. 02

    Build

A fixed price, quoted in writing after the diagnostic. The number does not move.

    from $10,000

  3. 03

    Run

Monitoring, the monthly report and fixes. Usage is billed at cost plus 20%.

    from $1,200 a month

The page in every quote

Includes

  • What is built, named part by part.
  • The test set, the pass mark and who signs it off.
  • The handover: code, configuration, a runbook and a data map, in your name.

Excludes

  • Anything not named. A new source, a new language or a second site is a new quote.
  • Decisions a person should make.
  • Work the diagnostic shows is not worth doing.

Assumes

  • Access to the files, tools and accounts named, in the first week.
  • One person who can approve the pass mark and the page of limits.
  • Usage billed in your own accounts, or at cost plus the published markup.

Questions

Asked before the first call

Do we need one of these, or one of the twelve systems?

Start with a system. Knowledge lookup, document intake and the rest cover most of what a small business asks for. Engineering begins where a system’s page says it stops: more sources, a model of your own, inference that cannot leave your account, or work that runs for hours. Fifteen minutes on a call settles it.

Why is nothing here priced?

Because the scope is yours. The diagnostic has a fixed fee, the build is a fixed price in writing after it, and the run fee is set with it. The figures are on the pricing page.

Will you train a model on our data?

Only when you commission it, under a written agreement, and only for you. Nothing you give us trains a model for anyone else. Most of the time prompting and retrieval get there first, and we say so.

Who does the work?

The person on your first call builds it and stays on it. The seven terms apply as they do to every system: a response the same day, a monthly report with the misses in it, everything in your name from day one.

Bring us the hard part.

Fifteen minutes on a call is enough to tell whether it is a system, a capability, or not worth building. If it is not, we say so.
